Successful personal injury claims in Burnley
Mr M. is one of our recent successful claimants in Burnley.
After an accident at Mr M’s place of work left him seriously injured, he came to Smith Jones to see if we could help him to claim compensation.
Mr M was a general labourer and building maintenance worker in the Burnley area. On the day of the accident, Mr M was instructed to trim a hedge at a local farm. To do this, he had been provided with a set of ladders by his employer. As he was trimming the hedge the ladders suddenly slipped and Mr M fell about 10 feet to the floor, landing mainly on his right foot.
Immediately, Mr M felt pain in his right ankle and was unable to stand, so an ambulance was called and he was taken to hospital. Here X-Rays and scans revealed that he had broken his heel bone. Treatment for this consisted of the fitting of plates and screws into his heel bone. Mr M was discharged after a few days after his ankle had been placed in a plaster cast. After several weeks, the plaster cast was removed and Mr M then underwent physiotherapy. This alleviated some of the pain but not all of it.
The accident meant that Mr M had to take a significant amount of time off work and now walks with a permanent limp. Our expert solicitor, Dermot Woodhead, took on his case, working with Mr M to secure a settlement of £57,000 for his injuries and losses.
