We are  offering a fantastic opportunity for a Legal Secretary to join our well-established, forward thinking law firm to support our Litigation team in Burnley.

Key responsibilities/duties include word processing/typing and collating correspondence and other documents from audio/digital dictation together with amending and formatting documents quickly and accurately.

The role therefore requires someone who is well organised, meticulous to detail and pro-active. The ideal candidate should possess initiative, be able to work calmly under pressure and to tight deadlines. A high level of document formatting skills is also essential.

In terms of the Litigation side of the role, below are a few specific bullet points as to what would be ideal in addition to general legal secretarial skills:-

  • Experience in preparing instructions to Counsel;
  • Experience in preparing documents for Court Proceedings e.g. Particulars of Claim, Defences, Part 18 Requests, Replies to Part 18 requests, witness statements etc;
  • Knowledge of Proclaim CMS; and
  • Knowledge of Big Hand.
