Hats for Headway Day 2018

Hats for Headway Day is a great way to get involved with raising funds for the charity ‘Headway’, and as such Smith Jones are happy to take part in Hats for Headway Day for the second year in a row.

Who are Headway?

Headway is a UK based charity that works to improve the lives of those who suffer from brain injury. The charity provides support, services and information to brain injury survivors. It also aims to assist and inform the family, friends and carers of people who have suffered brain injury, as well as to professionals in the legal and healthcare sectors. They rely on their network of over 125 branches to provide support at a local level, all of which campaign to increase awareness of brain injury and for better resources to be made available for those affected.

What is Hats for Headway Day?

Hats for Headway is an event organised by the charity to help raise awareness and funds to support those who have suffered from brain injury. People and businesses all over the country take to donning hats in a simple, fun and easy way to raise money for the charity.

This year, Hats for Headway Day takes place on the 18th of May, during Action for Brain Injury Week (14th – 20th May).

Events like this raise valuable funds which allow Headway to provide vital services to brain injury survivors and their families. The money is invested in helping brain injury survivors, families, carers and GPs gain a greater understanding of the effects of brain injury. Donations can also help survivors and families with travel costs to hospital or rehabilitation, with accommodation costs and other family costs incurred as the result of a brain injury.
