Peter Jones

Peter Anthony Glyn Jones BSc
Born 1956 - Cardiff, Wales
Qualified 1984
Managing Partner

Over 20 years experience in Personal Injury work both for Claimants and Defendants.

Former Senior Partner of a Coventry based mixed Claimant/Defendant Personal Injury Firm described in the Chambers Legal 500 as "the best mixed Claimant/Defendant Personal Injury firm in the midlands".

Later headhunted to set up a Midlands Office for a substantial national Defendant Personal Injury firm where he was later elected Chairman of the Executive Management Board. Frustrated by the constraints of a large bureaucratic practice he returned to his Claimant roots in 2000 when he joined Smith Jones (formerly known as Farnworths) as Managing Partner and at the same time established the Kenilworth Office.

Since joining Smith Jones he has been pivotal in transforming the firm from a mixed general practice into a specialised Personal Injury and Litigation Practice.

Peter is a member of The Law Society Personal Injury Panel, The Legal Complaints Service Solicitors Negligence Panel, the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers and the Motor Accident Solicitors Society and a fellow of the College of Personal Injury Lawyers.

Still a "hands on" lawyer, Peter is involved in a wide range of fee earning work from accident cases and solicitors' negligence to costs cases.

Nicknamed "The Orbital Grinder" because of his relentless approach to resolving problems, he describes himself as a "born again anarchist" with a distaste for the obsessive bureaucracy of many leading law firms.

Hobbies include rugby, judo, walking and taxi driving (his four children).

Craig Bibby
Born 1973 - Burnley
Qualified 2005

Partner

Craig Bibby was appointed partner at Smith Jones on 1 September 2007. He started life in the legal profession over 18 years ago under the old YTS scheme for a firm of solicitors in Nelson. He devoted his time to personal injury claims for the firm and built up his own client base before joining Smith Jones, formerly Farnworths , in 1994. He then decided to take the long route of qualifying as a solicitor part time over a period of almost 9 years and at the same time increasing his experience and client base.

He is a member of APIL and The Association of Personal Injury Lawyers. His hobbies include squash, occasional football and making a bad attempt at playing golf.
