Smith Jones acted for a client who worked as a self employed slaughterman in the West Midlands area who had an accident at work.
The client was in the process of cutting meat when he suffered a severe laceration to his hand. He was unable to work for some time and given that he was self employed he sustained significant loss of earnings.
The client contacted Smith Jones and it was arranged for him to see a medical expert. Following examination and the preparation of a full report it was established that the client required treatment from an Occupational Therapist.
The claim was settled, taking into account loss of earnings and treatment, in the sum of £9,300.
